This past weekend, I had my first ever local show- Germantown Fest. I won't lie, I was nervous, stressed, and terrified all my hard work was going to be in vain. Typical artist-like thoughts. But, much to my delight and surprise, everything went really, really well. I sold more than I expected (well I suppose anything is more than zero). People were complimentary and said some oh so kind words. A few people even came back the next day and showed off yesterday's purchases and bought more. Success!
This entire business endeavor would be impossible without the amazing people who helped me out this weekend. My amazing mother flew down from Minnesota to help me set up and worked the booth along with myself and my BFF Callie. So many familiar faces came out to support me, I'm not sure I could even list everyone. If you visited me (and whether you bought something or not), thank you. To quote political icon Leslie Knope, "No one achieves anything alone". I certainly wouldn't be where I am without an incredible community of people.
September 29 is the Market at Hope. If you didn't get to Germantown, come see me at Hope! It's always a good show plus its indoors and air conditioned. Win/win.
